ChatPeer adds folders, full-text search and export to Claude and ChatGPT. The rule is that your conversation content never leaves your browser — and the reason you can believe it is that we never built the endpoint that would receive it.

“Local-first” is a claim every extension in this category makes, so here is the whole of it as a list. Anything not in the bottom three rows does not reach a server we run.

How it’s built and run
The extension is a Chrome content script that runs on claude.ai and chatgpt.com. It builds a full-text index with FlexSearch and stores it in IndexedDB — the same browser storage that holds your bookmarks — which is why search works offline and why there is nothing to sync.
The site you are reading is a static Next.js build. Payments go through Stripe, which means card details never touch our infrastructure either; licence emails go out through Resend. Those two and the licence database are the entire server-side footprint.
The interface is translated into English, Arabic, Spanish, French and German, with genuine right-to-left layout for Arabic rather than a mirrored stylesheet.

The architecture is the guarantee
There is no server that receives conversation content, so there is nothing that could leak it, be subpoenaed for it, or change its mind about it in a later policy update. A privacy policy is a promise; a missing endpoint is a fact.
The free tier is the whole product
Every feature is in the free tier — most of them with a limit. Nothing is hidden behind the paywall that isn't also there, smaller, for free. You can tell whether it suits you before paying anything.
