Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you purchase a ChatPeer license, we collect the following information:

• Email address — provided at checkout, used to deliver your license key and for support correspondence.
• Country — two-letter country code from your billing address, provided by Stripe.
• License usage metadata — device count, validation timestamps, and IP addresses (for rate limiting). This is used solely to enforce the device limit on your license.

What we do NOT collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store any AI conversation content. All conversation data processed by the ChatPeer extension remains in your browser (IndexedDB) and never leaves your device. The extension does not send message text, conversation titles, or any content to our servers or any third party.

How we use your data

• To deliver and validate your license key.
• To enforce the per-license device limit.
• To respond to support requests.
• To process refunds and manage your subscription.

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising.

Data retention

• Customer and license records are kept for the duration of your license plus one year.
• Device records are pruned after 90 days of inactivity (no validation requests from that device).
• Rate-limiting records (IP addresses) are deleted within one hour.

Third-party processors

• Stripe — payment processing. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Resend — transactional email delivery. See Resend's privacy policy.
• Vercel — hosting. See Vercel's privacy policy.

Data deletion

To request deletion of your data, email privacy@chatpeer.co from the email address associated with your purchase. We will delete your customer record, license records, and all associated device and event data within 30 days.
