1. Platform coverage
Superpower ChatGPT describes itself as “the first ChatGPT browser extension” and its site mentions no other platform. Everything it does, it does inside chatgpt.com.
ChatPeer runs on claude.ai and chatgpt.com from a single install, and on All Access a keyboard shortcut searches both histories at once from any Chrome tab — neither site needs to be open. If you only use ChatGPT, this row is worth nothing to you.
2. What leaves your machine
Both are local-first, and it would be wrong to claim otherwise. Superpower's site says your history becomes useful “without becoming someone else's dataset” and describes a local index over chats, prompts, images and notes.
The difference is what neither of us says out loud in the same way. ChatPeer has no sync endpoint at all — not for conversations, not for folder names, not for tags — because the server side is a licence key, an email address and a device count. Superpower does not publish a sync policy either way, so this row is a tie on published evidence rather than a win.
3. Organisation: folders and tags
Superpower has nested folders with drag-and-drop ordering, plus “auto folders” and “auto cleanup” on its Pro tier. ChatPeer has nested, colour-coded folders on both platforms, and files the conversation you are reading with one click.
Where ChatPeer differs is automatic tagging: five built-in categories scored on-device against keyword rules, plus your own rules, applied to conversations you never got round to filing. Superpower's site does not describe an equivalent.
4. Search
Both build a local index and both search message bodies rather than titles. Superpower's index covers more object types — chats, prompts, images, notes, highlights and annotations — where ChatPeer indexes conversation messages.
ChatPeer's advantage is reach rather than depth: one query across Claude and ChatGPT together, on All Access. Superpower's is depth within one platform.
5. Export
Superpower exports Markdown, JSON, PDF and text, with bulk export on Pro. ChatPeer exports the same four formats, with bulk export as a ZIP on paid tiers and plain text free.
ChatPeer's Markdown carries YAML frontmatter — title, export timestamp, message count — so files parse in Obsidian's Dataview without further processing. Superpower's site does not say whether its Markdown does the same.

Superpower has a prompt manager with folders and favourites, and prompt chains for repeatable multi-step workflows. ChatPeer has saved prompts inserted by typing two slashes, chains of up to 25 steps, and a curated library of expert prompts on top.
The curated library is the difference — Superpower's site describes managing your own prompts, not a catalogue shipped with the product.

This one goes the other way, and it is not close. Superpower's free plan includes five conversation folders and five saved prompts. ChatPeer's free tier caps folders at two, bookmarks at two, saved prompts at two and search results at five, with text-only export.
ChatPeer's argument is that every feature appears on the free tier rather than a subset of them — automatic tagging, the context meter and all five interface languages have no limit at all. That is a different philosophy, not a bigger allowance. If you want to use one of these seriously without paying, Superpower gives you more room.
